Sandy's journey of writing began as a boy-crazy teen, writing about her hopes and dreams in her diary, and creating poem after poem to reflect her deepest feelings during whatever life's situation was at that time.
Her writing took a back seat however after she become a wife and mother, and 20 years later, came back ten-fold when her former spouse deployed to Afghanistan with the US Army. Writing became her solace. A safe place. A comfort in the time of great stress and fear, and gave her something to focus on amidst a time filled with many challenges. At the nudge of dear co-workers and friends, writing over lunch breaks and countless hours at her local coffee shop in Lacey, WA...her first novel was born. Hope in the Rain was a labor of love and to this day, her favorite work.
Today, five years after her debut novel, she is living life as a single mom has four amazing kids, and enjoys being back in her hometown of Mt. Vernon, IL with her two youngest teens. She's a coffee addict, a book lover, hopeless romantic looking for her own second chance at love...(maybe she'll even bump into him in front of the coffee shop someday again lol). She's a marketing professional by day and an author by night. Sandy can be found most mornings at her local downtown coffee shop getting the daily scoop and working on her next novel.
